- Timed Auction Format
All auctions conducted by Maynard Auctions are timed online auctions. Each auction listing will clearly display the scheduled closing date and time on the lot's details page. Bidding is open for a defined duration, and participants may place bids at any time during this period. The auction will automatically close at the stated end time unless extended by the 60 second Rule. - 60 Second Rule
In all timed online auctions conducted by Maynard Auctions, the 60 Second Rule shall apply. This rule stipulates that if a bid is placed within the final 60 seconds of the auction’s scheduled closing time, the auction end time will automatically extend by an additional 60 seconds. This extension will continue with each subsequent bid placed within the final 60 seconds, ensuring all interested parties have a fair opportunity to place further bids. The auction will only close once a full 60-second period has passed without any new bids being submitted. This mechanism is designed to replicate the competitive nature of a live auction and to prevent last-second “sniping.”

- Reserves
- Many lots are offered subject to a reserve, which is the confidential minimum sale price. The reserve will never exceed the low estimate on any lot. Maynard Auctions may open the bidding on any lot below the reserve by placing a bid on behalf of the seller and may in their discretion continue to bid up to the reserve price. This can be achieved by bidding in response to other bidders or alternatively by placing consecutive bids.
- Sellers may place a reserve on any lot consigned (minimum reserve AED 2,000) prior to the auction, being the minimum hammer price at which that lot may be sold. Reserves must be reasonable, and we may decline to offer lots which in our opinion, a seller is requesting an unreasonably high reserve.
-
A reserve once set cannot be changed except with our consent and confirmed by you in writing. Where a reserve has been placed only, we may bid on your behalf and only up to the reserve (if any) and you may in no circumstances bid as a seller personally on your own lot.
- Once an auction starts, a reserve can not be increased, however they can be decreased with writen notice by the seller.

Any damage, loss, or misuse may allow the seller to reduce the buyback price or refuse buyback as mutually agreed. - If a seller does not take the option to repurchase their asset within the agreed time period, Maynard Auctions becomes the full and permanent owner and has the right to resale the asset.
- In most cases, only single assets can be on any one Buyback Agreement, however special cases may exist such as when multiple assets that make up a collection and have a joint value, may be on a Buyback Agreement.
