Key Features
Description:
The 'Indian Head' American Half-Eagle, produced by the US Mint between 1908 and 1916, and again in 1929.
These Half Eagle gold coins have a face value of $5 and contain .2419 troy ounces of gold, or 7.53 grams.
The Indian Head design was created by Bela Lyon Pratt, and while the coin specifications didn't change from previous versions, the design was radically refreshed. The Native American with a feather headdress appears on the obverse, while an Eagle is on the reverse, along with the United States mottos.
A rare quirk of these coins is that the inscriptions and overall design are incuse; they are stamped in and not raised up.
Buyers Fees:
3% + VAT of hammer price.
