Description:
The 2023 Yale of Beaufort 1oz gold coin is the second bullion release in the Royal Tudor Beasts Collection from The Royal Mint. Like the Queen's Beasts series, the collection will feature 10 'Beasts', this time consisting of statues that line the Moat Bridge at Hampton Court.
A 'Yale' is a mythical beast found in European mythology and the imagery was used by the Beaufort family during the fifteenth century. The black-coloured Yale (aka Centicore) has long and flexible horns, which can be moved independently of each other. It is the size of a horse with an elephant's tail. The Yale symbolises a proud defence.
The 2023 Tudor Yale gold coin and contains one troy ounce of pure 999.9 gold.
